Party time for La DoubleJ and Orlebar Brown as new collab kickstarts summer

Summer collaborations continue apace. The latest sees Italy’s La DoubleJ brand founder JJ Martin and the UK’s Orlebar Brown brand founder Adam Brown combining to launch ‘Raise Your Vacation Vibration’.

The high-summer capsule comprises 34 “effortlessly elegant” swimwear and ready-to-wear styles. Designed for all genders, it comes in three “dazzling” prints in a bold red, white and blue.

The ‘go from plane to poolside to post-swim aperitivo’ range includes the ‘Viviana’ shirt, crafted from Italian cotton, breezy, oversized tops like the ‘Better Than Your Boyfriend's Shirt’ and figure flattering one-pieces like the ‘Daquiri Suit' and the tailored ‘Bulldog Swim Shorts’.

It includes three exclusive prints, designed by La DoubleJ and meant to be mood-boosting, with Dragonflower, a reimagined LDJ print; Morpheus, “a romantic ode to the god of dreams”; and Whitsun, botanically inspired by the king of flowers.

“Blending La DoubleJ’s power-printed, Italian feminine ebullience with Orlebar Brown’s sophisticated, masculine silhouettes, each piece in the line is designed to elevate your holiday state”, we’re told.

JJ Martin added: “This collection is really a true founder-to-founder brainchild. OB was looking to add a little more pizazz to their prints while we at LDJ were looking to absorb some of that 'off-duty' elegance that they’re so well-known for. Although they might seem traditionally like men’s and women’s collections forged into one, all the pieces are really genderless, meant to be borrowed from your partner or your BFF’s closet while on holiday together. This is a true marriage of energies and aesthetics.”

Brown also said: “I fell in love with La DoubleJ when I met JJ Martin a few years ago. Her aesthetic is infectiously upbeat and vibrant -- the ultimate manifestation of our mantra ‘Feel Summer’. Available through both brands’ websites and in-store, plus Net-a-Porter, the line is being launched with party celebrations in St Tropez, Portofino, Ibiza and the Hamptons.
